Following Module 2 Day 6 of the challenge, after I checked "Grant Access", the website URL and the Google Analytics ID show up fine, but there is no check box under the Tracked? column so I can't proceed with tracking.

Any recommendations to install the tracking? Google Analytics is still showing "Tracking Not Installed"

Still getting the same error on my end and never any checkbox, however, there are a few stats being tracked directly through WPD, but still nothing on Analytics itself, and I still have the Exclamation "Tracking Not Installed" icon as well.

Eugene and Darren, are you getting any stats in your WPD account?

Brandon, yes I do have a few stats on my wpd account. But still the same problem with google analytics.

I would just assume it's a delay in Google Analytics but I've seen another thread where someone had a working Google analytics account which stopped working after enabling it on WordPress direct:

I submitted a ticket and no word. Still not resolved. Google Analytics is showing Tracking Not Installed.

Just to be clear, when I click on Google Analytics I get to the Control Panel screen titled: Google Analytics Integration. Under the column titled Tracked ? nothing appears. There is supposed to be a checkbox to initiate tracking. There is no checkbox and I can't see any other way to initiate tracking. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve?

Still the exact same issue for me, Eugene, never any checkbox and still says tracking not installed.

Did you already have a few other Analytics accounts set up? I did, and they are all showing in WPD, even though none of them have a checkbox, so maybe multiple sites is what causing the problem?

Brandon,

No I do not have any other Analytics accounts set up, so that's not the cause.

Still no response to my ticket. Any thoughts on how to get a response?

This error is happening because of a mismatched URL between the Website Settings page in WPD and your Google Analytics account (which is what shows on the GA page in WPD). They must match exactly.

The most common cause is an extra slash at the end of the URL on one page but not the other. Other times it's a typo, misspelling, or a different URL altogether.

Unless you've had this site for a while and imported it into WPD, all you need to do it change the domain in your Google Analytics account (on google) to match the one on Website Settings in WPD.

If you do have stats accumulated in your Google Analytics account set up already, the alternative is to delete the site from WPD and re-import it using the domain name exactly as it appears in WPD.

If you have any further questions, please submit a ticket to our support team at wpdirect.com/support.

Thanks,
The WPD Team

Thanks so much. This indeed was human error. There was a typo in the URL in Google Analytics! I corrected the discrepancy and the checkbox appeared. Resolved!

Bummers! I'm unable to change my WPD url setting. It needs to have the / after the domain. Stuck

Thanks for the answer, this has solved the problem for me too. I had a trailing slash in google analytics. Now I just need to wait for Google Analytics to find my site.

Did not work for me. I have tried the www. taking it off, putting a slash. I'm at a loss.

First - Thank you WPD folks for having this tool!
And for me it was as simple as deleting the / from behind the end of my URL

It was like magic (to a newbie like me)
Hope it helps some one else.

I ending up going into the edit section in line with the URL and under actions. Then I hit the check status and it seemed like it froze. I logged out and when logged back in it was working. p.s. I did forget the "www." in addition to the other problem I had. Thanks for the help.

Hello I am still having issues with this. Can you please assist me?

I have two issues with my google analytics. I have searched the web and the forums to find the answers and can't find them. Please assist.

I set up google analytics several days ago for two sites I'm running through the challenge and I am still getting the status icon that states that "tracking is unknown" in google analytics for both.

When I "view website Stats" inside of wp direct, I am getting this message for one of my sites and not the other, "Google Analytics Error : Request failed with code 401: User does not have permission to access profile [35639438]".

I checked and I'm logged into google with the correct address, and my analytics ID is input correctly into WP Direct. Any idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?

I had the same issue with two of my five sites. As recommended I checked my URL spelling anf they matched.

However, when I went into the "edit" section on Google, I saw "Tracking Not Installed ( Check Status )". I clicked Check Status, and Google found my tracking.

Now my status is Tracking installed, collecting data. Now I have to wait the 24hr period to populate data.

I had the same issue with the checkbox and then the spelling error fixed the (no box)

Now when I check the box, it gets checked and nothing else happens. In Google analytics the warning sign (tracking not installed remains)

All spelling is the same....any help please?

THANK YOU Derek!! I did what you said below and it worked! Now I'm in the waiting stage.

However, when I went into the "edit" section on Google, I saw "Tracking Not Installed ( Check Status )". I clicked Check Status, and Google found my tracking.

Hi There, I am having the problem with the missing Tracked? checkbox. I have checked spelling etc. and cannot get it to appear. I deleted an recreated the profile in Google Analytics just to be sure. What else could I be missing?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
