Is there any documentation on importing a wordpress blog?

I've seen posts from last year from users struggling with this not able to do it.
I'm searching but can still find no info on importing a wordpress blog.

Why do people keep referring questioners to that question? It's absolutely useless in explaining how to import your site (unless you already know what you're doing, in which case you're unlikely to be asking the question). The question is about how to import plugins AFTER you've imported your site, in case you hadn't noticed.
I have managed to import my sites after working it out for myself. However it does seem crazy that there are tutorial videos for so many other things, and nothing for this most basic function.
The other annoying thing is I can't find a list of which plugins are included in the plugin package.
