Hi I want to create a static home page for my site. Which i know how to do. But before i do that I was wondering if there is any benefit to a static home page over the latest post beign displayed as the home page?

Also is there a way to create a section that displays a protion of the latest post on a static page and them links to them. Something along the lines of the "read more" or see full article" hyperlinks.
