Google is mysterious and there's no sure way to guarantee their cooperation. Make sure you have all bases covered. There are some measures you can take to improve your chances of Google taking notice:
1) Make sure you have enough backlinks in social networking sites like Digg and Del.icio.us
2) Make sure you have written some original content and that it's stickied to the top of your site.
3) Make sure you're not using too much automated posting. Keep it on a regular schedule and supervise it. Keep it on the setting "Supervised Posting".
4) Put links to your site in forums.
5) Post links back to your site in Yahoo Answers (put answers in the relevant threads and don't spam)
6) Submit sitemaps to Google manually. Register for a Google Webmaster account and get your website verified. http://www.google.com/webmasters/
7) Don't forget that once you've initiated these changes, you'll have to wait a few days for the search engines to index you.
