Wordpress is the most popular blogging platform in the world. It is free to use and has an open API, meaning that 3rd party developers can develop their own themes and plugins, allowing for a nearly infinite degree of customization for various purposes.
However, for those without any technical experience, Wordpress can be difficult to install, because it requires modifying PHP files with database information, uploading the latest version to your server via FTP, etc. It is also not optimized for SEO out-of-the-box, and it is time-consuming to maintain.
