Problems installing on Dreamhost

I had a pre-existing Dreamhost account, so I decided to install my 30DC site there but I am having problems.
I have spend days trying to install a blog without success and so am stuck at day 6, I hope you can help. I thought that it was caused by a theme bug, but I have now tried multiple themes with the same result.
The error message I am getting from my browser is "the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete". My guess is that it is something to do with the root directory for ftp is not the directory where the files are to be installed, and I guess that the listed directory is an alias for something else.
Any ideas?

Installing on Dreamhost requires that you create the SQL database on your site FIRST before you start your WP Direct install procedure.
Since Dreamhost updated their panel there have been a number of issues with the Ioncube installer. The easiest way to resolve these is to download the Ioncube installer from this site- http://sxi.sabrextreme.com/dh-phpion
Unzip and upload the php script to the root of your domain and visit it in your browser.
Leave the default setting on and click Install and you're all set, there is no need to delete it after as it does that automatically and includes a testing facility.
