Can you tell me in clear terms what I need to look for in a Wordpress theme to see if it works with WPD?
I have gone through a number of wordpress themes and it's a very frustrating and time consuming trail and error exercises.

You can use almost any theme on wordpressdirect. You're not restricted to choosing one from our theme gallery, though not all themes will allow for the full functionality of WordPressDirect.

While we cannot guarantee any theme will work (many themes are not well designed and would not work well even with wordpress alone), you are certain to lose functionality of the theme is not widget-enabled, or compatible with the version of WordPress your site is using. If you are using a theme written by a developer familiar with Wordpress theme coding requirements that is widget enabled and compatible with the version you are using the theme should work well.

You can see the current version of wordpress on your site under 'account settings' > 'advanced settings' > 'upgrade options.' You can update to the latest version (currently 2.8.2) under 'website settings' if you wish, though our plugins have not yet been fully tested under the latest version.

It usually takes 3-4 weeks once a new version of WordPress is released before we declare it stable on our end, though this time period has been known to vary depending on the significant differences between versions.
