Is there really such a thing as a Platinum membership and how do I get it?

The Platinum membership level includes much more than premium plug-ins. For example, Platinum members get first access to new plug-ins and applications we are developing prior to their release to the other Paid membership levels.
Platinum is also geared towards a different kind of internet marketing strategy than the SEO-oriented one as taught by the Thirty Day Challenge. In many ways, it is intended to be a complement to our CPA Ninja DVD Course.
Some examples of what Platinum members get right now:
- Up to 500 sites
- Unique streamlined interface to manage large number of sites
- 50% affiliate commission (same as Gold)
- Exclusive access to OfferTrappers (to be released to the public later this year as a separate web app)
- Premium plugins (those available to Gold plus more)
- Premium themes designed specifically for CPA marketing strategies
- Exclusive video content for CPA strategies
- Multi-user access

The reason Platinum is not available to the public except during select times of the year to our existing membership base only (such as during the CPA Ninja launch) is because to get the most out of it, it should be paired with some kind of training.
While we do provide some videos to help you get started on CPA Strategies with the membership, we don't want people to pay for this membership unless they are going to get their money's worth, and that means you should have some experience with WordpressDirect first. We also limit the number of Platinum memberships we sell due to the extra demand it puts on our support team.

I think they are referring to the plug ins. That's the only thing I can think of. I went back and reviewed the different membership options and that's the only place Platinum was mentioned. Kind of a steep price $197 a month

WPD Platinum allows the advanced user who is desiring to business online with regard especially to CPA (cost per action) and has a large amount of sites to have a "management" system in place to make their life easier. Bottom line, Marty and team have done a huge amount of work based from experience on many levels to give to those of us that have the desire (for a reasonable monthly fee) and we don't have to have a degree in rocket science.
My experience as a Platinum WPD member has been PHENOMENAL!
The WPD Platinum platform is allowing me to reach for the stars without having to build the nuts and bolts to organize and maintain my infrastructure of my sites.
I am able to go to one location and work on multiple sites at one time.
It does not get any better folks.
So, when a person says the price is steep...hmmmn... I suppose you have to determine what your time is worth and what you want to do with it.
