How do I get started?

1. You need to point your nameservers to the new hosting account. Here's Marty's tutorial video on how to do this:

Remember, you can always find this video and others in the navigation menu of your WPDirect dashboard. Click on the tab for "Internet Basics"
2. You will be ready to install your website after the required propagation time. This can sometimes take up to 72 hours. You will know that your website is ready when you see an "Index Of" directory listing at your URL.
Type the domain name of your site into your browser. If you receive a 'Domain not found' error, your website is not ready. This is because DNS servers have not propogated.
If you see an Index-of listing, your website is ready.
If you just registered the name, sometimes you can see your site, but we can't in the US, since the propagation doesn't happen instantly everywhere. In this case you will still run into trouble. So, to be safe, you have to wait up to 72 hours after registering the domain name.
3. On the WPDirect dashboard, click the red "Install New Site" button on the right sidebar.
4. You will be taken to our theme gallery. Find a theme that you want to use on your site. (You can always change it again later.) Underneath the theme, click "Install Website Instantly."
5. Insert all of the information for your domain on the step 2 screen. This will include your website's URL, your FTP login information, your title, description, and keywords.
6. Click "Check Settings & Proceed to Next Step"
Your website should be installed successfully.
