error: Make sure that the FTP information are correct

I bought a domain from Godaddy and added it to my Hostgator account add-on domains. When I try to install a new site with the domain, and I try to click continue on step 2 (the step after you choose a template) I get the error "Make sure that the FTP information are correct." What does that mean? How do I start my new site?

I had a similar error and situation. It was due to not changing the name server on GoDaddy to the name server from Hostgator
