Keywords and categories

I noticed that when you show keywords as an example and categories as an example they are the same -- have ai got this right? eg, buy laptop etc I am unsure about the keywords --In blogs I have set up before WPD I used exact match longtail high s

Why don't my categories show up on my webpage?

Under categories it just says uncategorized. Wouldn't it be better to have my 5 keywords on the main page. Any ideas...
